Spending ,Wealth ,and quality of living (?)

Me and myself are confused , there are habits that i can never ever relate to ! like buying fancy things when you can have the same exact functionality out of a much cheaper one ! even more ; buying things just because you can,not because you need . but maybe because i was never able to "just buy it" and always had to "need to buy it" to do so right ? what do i know i can't claim i know how it feels ! which lead me and myself to this question ; now I -and i assume everyone else- works hard to be successful ,happy and wealthy , I'm not getting into Wealth VS Rich debate ,but lets say you managed to have good stable income ,so what do i do now ?I mean i have enough money to buy fancy stuff ,would i buy it ?what if my sister,my mom,my wife,my kids wanted one of those ? do i tell them no ? or do i do what i find now complete irresponsibility and utter detachment from the real world where thousands can't get 3 meals a day ? but again is it "my" fault ?is it their fault ?should the excess money go to charity only ?
what is quality of living and what determines it ? see me and myself are really confused . your generous thoughts of wisdom please...

Post is featuring this CHANEL hand bag worth of ... a lot of money !

I started having this very same dilemma when i started earning enough, at beginning i felt like making up for all the times i did want to have those things but could not. Then my mind played a trick on me, i started to beleive i buy those things because they are of higher quality! at a later stage i bought just to prove i can have that lifestyle easily..and sometimes to tease other girls who like to flash their expensive bling bling...
nowadays, i find myself in peace with those ideas and the great temptation to buy...i created a criteria of "Value vs. Price" in order to be able to control the shopmanic behavior i experience when im down..so far so good!

It all depends on what you crave for in the process of buying, I'm never tempted to buy any expensive clothes, food, or accessories. But, when it comes to 2 things : Stationary stuff (pens and Mechanical Pencils) and Wrist Watches, Then I'm a shopping freak, and my minds gives me all the necessary rationale, these things should be of good quality or they'll be broken easily

If it is something I really like or/and I need, I would buy it regardless if it is a brand or not. I don't care about brands a lot for one reason it is a way of showing off. For myself I prefer to have balance between spending and doing something useful with my money for others.

Roomi well thats good news ! I'll wait n see wut happens when my "beginning" begin :D

Tha2ir u say "my minds gives me all the necessary rationale, these things should be of good quality or they'll be broken easily" so deep down u feel like its excessive and too much ?

Um Omar i sure hope not i ever get there :d buy books thats how you're going to stop the bad habit :D

Blue Dolphin welcome to my blog , i like your answer the best, except that i don't think its always about showing off (buying brands that is) 85% yea i guess it is tho .

i wish i had the answer you’re looking for, i mean we can spend days debating this and it would be pointless because we hate to admit it that we like to buy expensive flashy stuff to showoff though we might not really need it and we cant help not buying it sometimes if we can afford it, it could be anything: a house, a car, clothes, etc… its humans nature!
fine, am not saying we shouldn’t give to charity especially that it is something blessed. but we can’t say that all excess money should go to charity because a hardworking guy maslan couldn’t work hard to live another normal life and help poor people though it does sound fair for others it doesn’t for him… and if all excess money went to charity then probably one day there will no longer be any social differences which means wealthy people will vanish and be normal again while poor people won’t be poor anymore and won’t accept to do their minimal duties and that could effect the society.. i mean in someway these social differences keep our lives in balance.
so just live your life! fine, do not spend money like water for one day you’ll regret that but sometimes we deserve to be treated classy and buy expensive stuff.

Rhythm of My Soul welcome to smokes blow .
I agree with you on the 1st part, i can agree with u on the mid part too about not giving all excess money to charity ,makes sense, one should reward himself/herself ,but i can't disagree less with you on your final point !!! these "classes" society created based on how much money you've got are shit !and disastrous, and this kind of wanting to keep them (the classes) alive leads to one thing, the rich getting richer, and the poor getting more poor and miserable .why did you assume that the poor won't do the minimum ?? the poor does more than the rich does and get fractions of what the rich get as a result of the poor's work for him !! if anything is to be called unfair its the poor working their asses off and the rich (owners) benefiting off their work for miserable wages !
